SPICE-Supported Playgroup Igniting Children's Engagement

Please note, Playgroup will now run from 2pm-3:30 pm each Wednesday until the end of term. We apologise for any inconvenience this change of time may cause. We hope all parents and children who are currently a part of our SPICE program are able to attend our new afternoon session.

Spotlight on STEM 

Last week in playgroup, children participated in a range of activities based on STEM. 

Children showed natural curiosity experimenting, constructing, exploring, testing ideas and theories and engaging in activities that require scientific thinking and spatial awareness. Walking along an obstacle course, connecting and building towers using shaving cream as an adhesive, making tunnels with tubes, reflecting light on a screen, mixing herbs and spices and melting blocks of ice to find creatures buried within, are just a few of the experiences they participated in. The conversations and interactions between parents and children were rich and promoted problem solving and active learning.
