Primary Co-Curricular

Primary Co-Curricular Report

The Co-Curricular season is now complete. This term was a little interrupted by the weather, various school events and some fixtures were cancelled. This meant the season was in effect, quite short.

May I begin by thanking the boys who participated in the Co-Curricular program in 2017. For the most part, the Blackfriars boys participated in the right spirit and conducted themselves well. Mr Henry Vo was especially pleased with the commitment of his tennis players and the way in which the turned out each week in their uniforms and with a terrific attitude. They definitely set a very high standard for others to emulate. Well done, boys.

The Co-Curricular program does not happen without the support of the staff, parent body and old scholars. Many people accept various roles to ensure that our boys have the opportunity to participate in the sports or events they enjoy. Special thanks go to:

  • Mr Corey Leditschke – Year 6/7 Cricket
  • Alex Harriss– Year 6/7 Cricket
  • Mr Dean Morkunas– Year 4/5 Cricket
  • Ms Nicole Schwidder – Kanga Cricket
  • Mr Stargatt,  Mr Weidenbach and Mr Vishal – Kanga Cricket
  • Mr Henry Vo – Primary B1 Tennis
  • Ms Kendall Schenk – Primary B2 Tennis
  • Mr Cameron Brealey – Year 4/5 Tennis
  • Blake Sanders – Tennis Coach
  • Mrs Bianca Kovacevic – Soccer 2 Sports

The support and contribution of all of these people was very much appreciated by the boys, families and myself.

I should also thank Jim Ferguson (Prospect Tennis Club) and Fred Reynolds (Blair Athol Tennis Club) for allowing Blackfriars to use their facilities. Your support is much appreciated during the tennis season.

2018 – Nominations

For the current group of students, can I ask you to consider your nominations for Term 1 in 2018. The school will offer the same sports as 2017, so if you would like to be involved, please nominate as such on your return to school in 2018.

Uniform Returns

All summer sports shirts loaned for 2017 need to be returned before the end of term. Items not returned will incur a $40 replacement fee.

I would like to wish all families a safe and Merry Christmas and hope that you al enjoy your summer holiday break.
