It is with great excitement and anticipation that we bring you the latest news from HT’s Theatre Department! The stage is set, the actors are ready, and the spotlight is waiting to shine on our upcoming production of Patrick Barlow's The 39 Steps. Prepare to be whisked away on an unforgettable journey filled with mystery, intrigue, and uproarious comedy.

 

A Classic Mystery Unfolds: The 39 Steps is a thrilling adaptation of John Buchan's famous novel and Alfred Hitchcock's iconic film. However, this isn't your typical retelling; it's a uniquely hilarious version that brings together the excitement of a spy thriller and the comedic brilliance of the renowned playwright Patrick Barlow. Get ready to follow the adventures of Richard Hannay, an ordinary man who finds himself caught up in a web of espionage, murder, and mistaken identity. The show promises to keep you on the edge of your seats as you try to decipher the clues and uncover the truth behind The 39 Steps.

 

Talent Galore: Our talented actors and directors have been working tirelessly to bring this masterpiece to life, pouring their hearts and souls into this production. Our backstage crew and designers have also worked their magic to create a visually stunning and immersive world that will transport you to the heart of the action. In all, over 110 students have worked on this production – an amazing achievement!

  • Date: Thursday August 10, Friday August 11 and Saturday August 12 (matinee and evening)
  • Time: 7:00 PM (Doors open at 6:30 PM) | 1pm Saturday matinee (Doors open 12.30pm)
  • Location: Performing Arts Centre, Huntingtower School – 77 Waimarie Drive, Mount Waverley. 
  • Ticket Price: Adult: $20, Concession $10 and HOSA Ticket $10.
