Year 7 Sport

The Year 7’s have commenced their first term of EISM sport and are thoroughly enjoying competing against other EISM schools. With football, netball, table tennis, touch rugby and volleyball, there is something for everyone. The excitement and energy on Monday afternoons is infectious.

Wishing all our teams a fun and successful term.

George H – keeps getting better!

I am happy to share the news that George H has been selected as a member of the State Marlin Squad in the Swimming Victoria Performance Pathways Program for 2023, which underpins Swimming Australia’s (SAL) Performance Pathway Program. The aim of this Program is to provide an integrated pathway for athlete and coach development for success within the State and on the National & International stage.

This is once again another amazing achievement for George, and we wish him every success as he pursue his swimming dream.

Faris T – A Badminton champion

In early July, Faris T competed in the U19 Nationals Badminton Championships in Adelaide. The 4-day tournament attracted the best U19 badminton players from across Australia.

Faris competed in both the singles and doubles draw and had success in both. He won through to the round of 16 for singles, playing some strong opponents, but was then unfortunately knocked out by Fredick Z who was ranked number 7.

With doubles partner Nick W, they too won through to the round of 16, where they played top seeds Shrey D and Jayden L who were just too good on the day.

Congratulations Faris on your outstanding achievements, especially juggling his Year 12 and music commitments.

You are an inspiration young man.

Muthu S V – a Cricketing star!

At the end of last term, Muthu travelled to Queensland, representing Victoria, to play in the Indoor Cricket Junior National Championships. Her team of 10 players did exceptionally well only losing games to the top 2 teams.

Muthu won best player in the game against Queensland where she hit 18 runs and had bowling statistics of 2/-4 and took a catch which allowed her team to win the skin.

Overall, Muthu finished 2nd in the state for statistics and finished in the top 10 for Australia. She finished with 91 runs for the 7 games she played with 7 wickets at an average of 1, with an overall game contribution average of 4.57.

Congratulations Muthu what a wonderful achievement. We look forward to seeing you play for Huntingtower in the cricket season! You are a super star!
