SEAS

Please note that Year 12s applying for courses at universities through the VTAC system will be eligible for SEAS (Special Access and Equity Scheme). International Students are not eligible, and should contact the relevant institutions to find out if any special consideration is available. All VTAC applicants are strongly encouraged to make a SEAS application for Category 1 (Personal information and location) and Category 4 (Difficult circumstances). The due date is October 9th, 2020. This year, VTAC has included a streamlined process whereby students can provide information about their remote learning circumstances, including internet, study environment, and access to equipment and space. The students simply need to rate the difficulty that they have experienced in these sub-categories. Where students have experienced additional difficulties, such as caring for young siblings, or any other difficulties that may or may not be related to remote learning, it is recommended that they write an impact statement and seek a supporting statement from a school staff member. Medical and disability issues need a supporting statement from a health professional. Consideration for financial circumstances is also available. While evidence and statements are sometimes required for SEAS and this may be time consuming, it is worth making an application. SEAS does not change an ATAR, but universities may adjust a student's selection rank based on an assessment of a SEAS application. More information is available from the VTAC website https://www.vtac.edu.au/seas.html. Please be advised that VTAC's SEAS process is separate to the state government's recent announcement that all students will be assessed for consideration due to remote learning. Please do not hesitate to contact Mr Phil Newnham at the College for further assistance.
