Division Athletics Carnival
On Wednesday 26th July, over 90 students represented DSC at the Division Athletics Carnival at the Tom Kelly Athletics Track. Many staff members (from DSC and other schools) were in awe of the level of participation of our students which lead to so many amazing results throughout the day. I am thrilled to report that for the second year in a row, Doncaster Secondary College has come 2nd in the overall championship. Although Balwyn High School secured the victory on the day, we have managed to reduce the gap from last year which is a great achievement!

Eastern Regional Soccer Championships
Throughout Term 3 we have had our Year 8 Boys, Intermediate Boys and Senior Boys all represent DSC at the Eastern Regional Soccer Championships at the State Football Centre in Darebin. All three of our teams played extremely well throughout their respective championships which they should be very proud of.
A special mention must go to our Intermediate Boys Soccer team who were crowned Eastern Regional Champions after a dramatic 1-0 victory over Mount Waverley. They will now progress through to the State Soccer Championships on Thursday 31st August. We wish them and their coaches Mr. Brown and Mr. Edgcumbe all the very best for the next stage.
Eastern Regional Basketball Championships
Throughout Term 3 we also had our Senior Boys and Senior Girls represent DSC at the Eastern Regional Basketball Championships at the State Basketball Centre in Wantirna. Both of our teams played extremely well throughout their respective championships which they should be very proud of.
A special mention must go to our Senior Boys Basketball team who were crowned Eastern Regional Champions after an impressive 11-point win against Templestowe College. They will now progress through to the State Basketball Championships on Tuesday 12th September. We wish them and their coaches Mr Knott and Mr Clarke all the very best for the next stage.
Eastern Regional AFL Championships
At the very start of Term 3 we also had our Senior Boys AFL team represent DSC at the Eastern Regional AFL Championships at Elgar Park. In what was a shock to many, our boys managed to get through the group stage undefeated and came up against last year’s State Champions, Vermont Secondary College, in the grand final. Despite the underdog label, DSC managed to keep the game very close in the first half, however Vermont was just too good in the second half to run away with the championship. It was a great effort by everyone involved.
State Cross Country Championships
Congratulations to Christian A. (Year 9) who represented DSC at the State Cross Country Championships on Thursday 13th July at Yarra Valley Racecourse. Christian managed to finish 75th in the Under 15 Boys event which is an amazing achievement.
A special mention must also go out to Jack D. (Year 12) and Mia D. (Year 11) who qualified for the event, however weren’t able to participate on the day.
Australian School Fencing Championships
Congratulations to Emily W. (Year 8) who represented DSC at the Australian School Fencing Championships on Saturday 17th June. Emily finished 5th place in the Girls Foil event, which is an incredible achievement, especially considering she only took up the sport last year. Well Done Emily!
Term 3 Division Sport
On Wednesday 19th July the Boys Netball Division Tournament was held at Macleay Park. The tournament saw four teams from DSC compete across the Junior and Senior divisions. It was great to see so many students develop skills in a sport they aren’t as familiar with, and it was impressive how much all the teams improved throughout the day.
