DSC Careers Expo

Thank you to all the school staff that helped to organise the wonderful DSC Careers Expo.

The Year 9s and 10s got to experience the Subject Expo in David Perry Hall.  There were many interactive and exciting subject displays and students were given the opportunity to ask questions and therefore make informed choices about their VCE and VCE VM subjects.

During session 3, there were many industry guest speakers.  There were representatives from the following industries; law, paramedicine, architecture, real estate, art, hairdressing, trade apprenticeships, the Australian Defence Force, medical radiation therapy, earth sciences, business, psychology, HR management and more.  The speakers were informative and engaging and we are so very grateful that they volunteered their time and energy.  

An inspirational guest speaker from Success Integrated, challenged our senior students to 'Shape Your Destiny' and pursue a suitable career path based on self-reflection, education and hard work.  

We were very fortunate to welcome back onsite some of our recent graduates, Kiana Pourhossein, Jack Gittins and Harry Bui, who generously volunteered their time to share with our current Year 12s about their experiences as first year university students. Our Year 12s found this Alumni Q&A session immensely helpful.

Towards the end of the day there were many tertiary representatives from RMIT University, La Trobe University, University of Melbourne, Monash University, Box Hill TAFE, Holmesglen TAFE and many other educational institutions.  

A BIG particular thank you to Vanessa Ramsay for her tireless efforts to organise the day.
