TERM 1 REPORT

The DSC Sport Program throughout Term 1 has included the DSC Swimming Trials, DSC Athletics Carnival, Division and Regional Swimming Carnivals while also seeing over 30 teams represent the school at various Division Sport events. 

We would like to congratulate all students who have participated in the DSC Sport Program throughout this term. It has been amazing to hear so many stories from opposition players and staff members, parents, referees and bus drivers highlighting the positive behaviour our students have been showcasing while competing at the various sports days.

A special shout out should also go to the Year 8 Girls Basketball Team and the Senior Girls and Boys Basketball Teams who have successfully qualified for their respective Regional Basketball Finals after being crowned Division Champions this term.

DSC Athletics Carnival

On Monday 27th March, the DSC Athletics Carnival returned to the original home of the event, Tom Kelly Athletics Track, Rieschiecks Reserve. Although it was a bit damp throughout the day, the effort shown by all the students who attended the event was astonishing. I would like to congratulate all students who participated on the day and send a special shout out to all students who have successfully qualified for the Division Athletics Carnival later this year. I would like to personally thank all DSC staff for their help throughout the day, as without them, events like this would simply not be possible.

I would like to make special mention of the following students who were crowned age group champions:

Regional Swimming Carnival

The last edition of the newsletter included a report on the DSC Swimming Trials and we were proud to announce the students that had qualified for the Division Swimming Team. Fast forward to this newsletter and we are so excited to announce that a few of our students have successfully qualified for the State Finals early next term. The students that have qualified for the State Finals not only had to overcome the best swimmers in the division, they also had to be victorious at the Regional Swimming Carnival which was held on Tuesday 28th March.
