PEFORMANCES

Congratulations to York Newell in Year 7 for his outstanding tenor sax solo performance of ‘Uptown Funk’ at the recent Year 7 Assembly. 

Staff and students were very impressed with York’s musical ability and confidence. Well done York!

REMEMBRANCE DAY ASSEMBLY

Thank you to Miss Cumming and a group of her Year 9 and 10 Music students who performed at last week’s Remembrance Day Assembly.

Max Caulfield, Tristan Dent, Emily Geerling, Noah Vincent, Ayla Harnett, Taylah Mae Gundry, Jett James, Kai Raiteri and Emmaline Greaves performed ‘I am Australian’ and Vance Joy’s ‘Fire and the Flood’, with a cameo appearance from Ms Powson joining in with the chorus. 

A special thanks also to Mr Morgan, Dylan Hodgens-Nash, Jacob Baldacchino and Tom Carden who helped with set-up and sound tech.

AMEB EXAM

Cailie Rigg Year 9, recently sat her Grade 3 Performance Exam for flute.  

AMEB exams are internationally recognised and provide students with valuable skills to further develop their performance repertoire. Well done Cailie!

RETURN OF HIRED INSTRUMENTS

Students who have a school instrument on loan through the Library, need to return these by Friday 9 December. This is so we have time to undertake any repairs and maintenance before the re-hire of these next year. 

Instruments need to be scanned in at the Library then brought over to Ms Goode in the PAC staffroom.

2023 VICTORIAN STATE SCHOOLS SPECTACULAR 

Calling all LHS Muso students, JOIN the 2023 VSSS Orchestra!! 

This year, Heidi (Year 12) and Erin (Year 11) were a part of the amazing Orchestra, performing at John Cain Arena in September and for a TV audience.

• Saturday 3 December – Lilydale Street Fair performance, 12noon
• Thursday 8 December – Year 12 Valedictory performance
• Friday 9 December – return of hired instruments
• Friday 9 December – LHS and Stage Band Break-up Party
