YEAR 9 MICRO CREDENTIAL WEEK

MONDAY 5 TO FRIDAY 9 DECEMBER

The aim for the last week of Year 9 is to build on and enhance students’ employability skills, by offering a range of micro credentials that will enable students to gain opportunities in the workforce for next year and beyond.  

 

The following sessions will be offered; 

 

MONDAY 5 DECEMBER 

Step into the Workplace - Skills to prepare students for seeking work opportunities. No cost involved.  

 

TUESDAY 6 DECEMBER 

First Aid Course - HLTAID010

Provide basic emergency life support.  Cost: $60 (limited places available – consent and pay on Compass).  

 

 

WEDNESDAY 7 DECEMBER

Girls: Empowering Women in Trade Taster Session (run by an external organisation).

 

Also included Virtual Job Experience, Barista Course, Hospitality Services and Safe @Work certificate.  NO cost involved.

 

Boys:  Virtual Job Experience, Barista Course, Hospitality Services and Safe @Work certificate.  NO cost involved.  

 

THURSDAY 8 DECEMBER

FRIDAY 9 DECEMBER

Period 1 – Year 9 Awards Ceremony

Periods 2 to 6 – End of Year Program

 

If your son/daughter would like to be involved in the sessions, please consent and pay on Compass.   Please note: Only payment required is for First Aid Training. 

 

Students who do not sign up for the micro credential week, will be expected to attend the End of Year Program.  

 

If your son/daughter is ABSENT from school during this week, please record their absence on Compass or call the Absence Line.
