LIFE SKILLS

Life Skills students attended their yearly fishing excursion yesterday with Daniel, Senior Education Officer from NSW Fisheries. The weather held out and the students had a fabulous time.

The workshop was run as part of the Department of Primary Industries program that is free for Special Education students. "This clinic is a valuable opportunity for our students to take part in the nation's favourite pastime, whilst at the same time learning recreational fishing skills," said Support Teacher Marie Iping.

Participants practice knot tying, casting and other fishing skills with help from staff. The fishing clinic is an integration program that makes it easier for people to get out and about in the community while at the same time helping them realise that fishing is something they can do in their own leisure time.
