Term 3 Sports Review
This term Lyndale sent out 12 division and 3 regional sports teams to represent the college from years 7-12 in Basketball, Futsal, Soccer, Netball and Table Tennis. We had great success with our intermediate boys table tennis team, year 8 boys futsal, year 8 boys table tennis and year 8 boys’ basketball all winning their division carnivals. All teams will progress through to the Regional Finals next term! Congratulations to all athletes!
67 students represented the school at the Division Athletics Carnival, these students placed 1st in their events at our college carnival in term 2 to secure their place on the team – All students worked extremely hard on the day to finish in 2nd place overall, which is incredible after having 2 years of no exposure to athletics events. Of these students we had a number of individual award winners placing overall in their respective age groups and 25 students placed 1st in their events which will result in progressing through to the regional carnival next term.
The following students were individual award winners at the Division Athletics Carnival:
Vishali Gopinath - 1st place overall 12-13 girls
Jack Ryan - 1st place overall 12-13 boys
Ayla Ayas - 1st place overall 14 girls
Raj Ravalji - 1st place 14 boys
Plaj Andrews - 3rd place 15 girls
Demario Banini - 1st place 15 boys
Adam Wang 2nd place 15 boys
Lubna Musa - 3rd place 16 girls
Sophea Nhel & Melissa Milanzi - 2nd place 17 girls
Suhaib Adam - 3rd place 18-20 boys
Thanks to all the teachers who trained and took out teams throughout the term, without these volunteers the students would not be able to enjoy our sporting programs.
