Brunswick Young Women Players

Emily Palekis

Director of Music

Three Brunswick Secondary College students, Josie Coyle, Ella Byrne and Eilen Beaton Ortega feature in a new play A Noble Cause.

A Noble Cause  depicts  Australian Labor Prime Ministers from Watson to Keating in historical context using famous quotes, music from each era and replete with achievements, failures and, often, political turmoil.

Josie, Ella and Eilen have formed the Brunswick Young Women Players and this is their third collaboration with local playwright, Neil Cole. They previously appeared in the historical drama 1916 and in 2017 they co-wrote the musical comedy Cabaret Homicidewith Neil and a number of other Brunswick Secondary students.

The girls are also very excited at the prospect of an upcoming trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where they will be performing another original play by Neil Coyle, Tales from the Kop.

A Noble Causeis playing at La Mama Courthouse from  June 14 to June 24 . Tickets can be purchased via www.trybooking.com.
