“Sunday the 7th of March is Clean Up Australia Day and therefore for the entire week (week 6), we will be having a Clean Up Kalinda Week where students will be encouraged to clean and tidy up rubbish in and around Kalinda using buckets and tongs provided.

It is important to put rubbish in the bin in the first place and pick up rubbish because otherwise it could go down the drain polluting our water that we drink. Animals can eat the rubbish and it will kill them too.

Our school values of kindness and being respectful mean that we should respect what our school looks like and that means picking up rubbish and putting it in the bins.

We challenge each class to see which student can pick up the most amount of rubbish in your class each day next week. Especially all of the lunch order bags. Bin monitors can you please make sure all the bins are put out each day.

So let’s pick up our rubbish and remember to put our rubbish in the bin in the first place so that we can clean up Kalinda!”

Tahlia, Maddy, Claire, Alina (Grade 4 students) & Miss Claire Todeschini (classroom teacher and Sustainability Leader).
