Student Achievements

The children of Kalinda have many wonderful talents, achievements and hobbies. If your child has recently celebrated an achievement of some sort we would love to hear about it!

Maybe they have broken a record at Little Athletics, earned a new belt in Karate, been selected for a choir or dance group, or been awarded a special badge in Cubs, Scouts or Guides.

Whatever the accomplishment, please send details (and photos if possible) to lauren.hopkins@education.vic.gov.au or chat with Lauren Hopkins (Assistant Principal) because we would really like to share their achievements here.

Our first submission for 2021 is from Gabe and Chiara's family. Well done team, we are very proud of you as well. You truly show the Kalinda values of Kindness, Respect and Resilience.

Gabe's generous gift

Submitted by Mum Martina.

"Over the school holidays, Gabe (4D) decided he wanted to raise money for a charity of his choice (Children's Cancer Institute https://www.ccia.org.au/), by creating a 'restaurant' and cooking a 2-course dinner for his grandparents. He researched, planned, prepared, and cooked the dinner by himself - with Chiara (FR) as his waitress/'front-of-house' on the night. He did a splendid job, with both sets of grandparents saying that the food as good as any restaurant they had been to!

We are very proud of him! It's something he started a few years ago, entirely his own idea, to do a project on the summer school holidays which would raise money for charity.  This was by far the biggest project! He did a truly spectacular job. (PS: Chiara made the sign!)

He raised $100 for the charity, and was, as you can imagine, very proud of himself."
