Valedictory Assembly -
Farewell Class of 2019
Our annual Valedictory Assembly took place last Friday, 22 November; a formal celebration that marks the end of school life for the class of 2019 and the beginning of new and exciting opportunities for our Year 12 students.
The assembly presents us with an occasion for our school community to come together and acknowledge the effort and talents of the Class of 2019, as well as extend our thanks and best wishes to our Doncaster Secondary College families.
Teachers and Education Support staff were also recognised for their contributions over the last six years. Their care and support has helped shape this amazing cohort of students.
The first group of Year 12 students to receive their graduation certificates were students who had attained the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL). We are so very proud of this group of students who were able to balance the demands of school study, TAFE learning and on-the-job training and successfully complete Year 12. There is an excellent article in last Sunday’s The Age newspaper highlighting the benefits of a VCAL pathway and specifically quotes one of our Year 12 students, Aleksi Z (12S).
Year 12 students completing their VCE received their graduating certificate. Additional certificates / awards were also presented to students who achieved academic excellence in individual subjects, excelled in sports, contributed through community service, excelled in the performing arts or who demonstrated exceptional effort or improvement.
Congratulations to all our 2019 graduating students. On behalf of the entire Doncaster Secondary College community I wish you all the very best for a happy and successful future.
