Girls Basketball
We had seven players out on the court at Dandenong Stadium on Friday 5th August: Hailey, Molly, Amy, Emily, Grace, Danielle and Suly. Everyone put in a fantastic effort to play hard and do their best, in a very challenging competition. We had some brand-new players as well as some experienced club players.
The highlight of the day was our second game, which we won with a stadium highest score of 64 points; and in that game, all seven players put scores on the board. The most prolific scorer for the day was our team captain, Hayley, followed by Molly. By the end of the day, everyone was exhausted after playing so many games back to back.
All the girls represented Cheltenham Secondary College magnificently and can be very proud of their performances today.

Boys Table Tennis
Cheltenham took two Boy's Table Tennis teams to MSAC for the Term 3 Round Robin (Friday 5th August). Cheltenham dominated the competition with A team going through to the next round to be played at Dandenong in November. Well done to Yoonho Ahn, Charles Reeve, Josh Kerr, Aidan Fabijan and thank you Mr Craig for taking the team.
Southern Metro Final
Having won the Beachside Division in Term 2, on Wednesday 17th August, 14 Year 8 girls played in the Southern Metropolitan Regional Soccer Finals.
With the help of gummy bears to determine player positioning, the girls showed incredible teamwork, determination and footwork to successfully win all their games. This landed them a place in the grand final, against McKinnon Secondary College. Unfortunately, Cheltenham lost (0 - 2). Overall, a fantastic day and well done girls for all your hard work!
Our Year 7 girls soccer team played in the Southern Metro tournament, after winning the Beachside competition in Term 2. We were up against some tough opposition throughout the day, especially the undefeated McKinnon who went on to win the day. The girls played well and competed all day, displaying all of our college values. We came third overall in the metro area.
Thursday 25th August - Chelt House Athletics Carnival will take place at Mentone Athletics Club, for students in Years 7-10. House colours or sport uniform is the dress code for the day. Students should bring their own lunch as there are no canteen facilities. Our VCAL 11 students will be hosting a sausage sizzle - so bring some cash if you would like to partake. Supporters are most welcome.
Students are to fill in the survey (https://forms.gle/FsuKF8JAxzArQ1Cm7) to sign up for different events. They must select at least 2 events.
Thursday 1st September - Beachside Athletics will take place at Mentone Athletics Club. Students will be selected to compete against other schools in our Beachside Division, based on qualifications and results from our House Athletics.
