Sports Academies
Netball Academy
The Netball Victoria State Schools Championship was played on Wednesday 17th August which saw our Chelt Academy take their first game win. The girls were very excited to beat Diamond Valley College 8-6 and as always were competitive throughout the day, with their never give up attitude. Coach Leah could not be more proud of the girls, of their performance, attitude and behaviour saying, "the skills we are working on at training came out on the court yesterday".
Well Done to Emily, Eleanor, Tahlia
Madeleine, Charlotte, Isobel, Matilda
Madison, Danielle, Kate.
Our Netball Academy Team has been competing in the Waverley Thursday Night Competition and they have found this to be extremely challenging. The teams they have faced have been playing at a high level for some time. To change the grading of our team, Chelt will be moved to the Monday night timetable.
Basketball Academy
The Chelt Basketball Academy, with the help of Moorabbin Rams Rugby Club and our coaching group at Synergise Health & Sport Development, will be taking their fitness a little more seriously as of next week. It's important for anyone striving to achieve success in sport that personal fitness is a priority, especially children. In personal training sessions, we will be helping our academy boys understand the correct methods of training with weights, not only for basketball but for personal fitness. It is vital for young people to stay active and it is important that they understand how to do this safely.
