Food drive success | Year 11 VCE Theatre Studies excursion

Food Drive

For Senior VCAL 2022, we were tasked to create a project which involves the community. Jiy, Morgan, Max and I thought about doing a food relief drive, to a place called Matt’s Place Community Meals. We conducted this project to target community members in need of an extra meal. Matt’s Place provides two free, hot meals every Tuesday and Thursday to those in need. We started to plan this project back at the beginning of Term 1, and planned for a couple of months to have better marketing and advertising. We aimed to achieve as much food as possible to support our community, we put out Compass posts, social media posts and put numerous posters up advertising that we wanted to help our community.

We were overwhelmed with the level of support from the Cheltenham community and we were successfully able to provide Matt's Place with a large amount of non-perishable food and hygiene items.

Year 11 VCE Theatre Studies excursion

The Year 11 VCE Theatre Studies class went to see the production Looking For Alibrandi at Malthouse Theatre Company.

As part of the area of study, students analyse and evaluate a professional theatre production of a script. They study the nature of theatre production including the application of acting, direction and design and their effect on an audience.

The students had an incredible day and were amazed by the production!
