Rowing Success

Angus Paynter (SVC

Congratulations to Old Virgilian Angus Paynter, (second from left above) who was recently selected to represent Australia in rowing in the Men’s U19 eight. Angus’ achievement is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport of rowing.

The U19, U21 and U23 Australian Rowing Teams came together in late June to race as part of the World Rowing Cup 3 Simulation Regatta at West Lakes in South Australia.

The accompanying picture shows Angus as part of composite crew that won the Under 17 Australian coxed quad scull at this year’s Australian championships at Lake Barrington.  Angus' younger brother Hamish is pictured at the back – far left in photo.  He is currently in Grade 9 and coxed the crew to victory. Also featured in the photo above (far right) is 2019 College Captain Jarrod Connolly.
