On Saturday April 24 whilst competing in Targa 2021 former SVC student 68 year-old Leigh Mundy, along with his navigator Dennis Neagle, lost their lives. Both were killed when their car left the road on a stretch of the race course near Cygnet, south of Hobart.
Leigh is survived his three children James, Natalie and Sarah who described their father as a "good-humoured, ever-generous, fix-anything, fondly mischievous dad."
“Our dad absolutely loved Targa and was thrilled to be competing again," his three children James, Natalie and Sarah said in a statement to the media.
"Dad was a loving older brother to John and Katrina, fun uncle to his nieces and nephews, and beloved grandfather to his little rev heads-in-training, Jack and Max."
The family took great comfort knowing that Leigh died doing something he loved, albeit still way too early.
