Superfish Max!

Congratulations to Old Virgilian Max Giuliani on his outstanding effort at the Olympic Swimming Trials in Adelaide in June.  Max broke the Tasmanian record for the 100m freestyle 17 years and under and the Open division in a time of 50:24! Going under 50 seconds is not far away!

This swim was on top of Max breaking the Tasmanian record for the 200m freestyle 17yr & Open in a time of 1:50:43. 

As a consequence  of these performances,  Max has been selected to compete in the first-time event Duel in the Pool in Brisbane in August, after the World Junior Championships in Kazan was postponed due to Covid-19 where he had been selected to represent Australia. 

Max is a previous winner of Tasmanian Swimmer of the Year.

Next year he moves out of the age divisions and into senior competitions and will be focussed upon selection for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
