Chess Competition Donation/The Hub Volunteers

The donation to The Hub (Katoomba) on Friday, 23rd June totalled over $50 from the recent BMGS Charity Chess Tournament, which was greatly appreciated by the Anglican Church volunteers.  BMGS Pitt House students ran the café, the bread donation table and the membership table in The Hub foyer, supporting those who need an extra loaf of bread or simply a hot cup of coffee.

Working hard down in the adjacent Anglican Op Shop were more BMGS student volunteers, helping members of the community pick out affordable items of need, in addition to loading the visiting Anglicare van with much needed groceries for the families and individuals present. All of the funds raised by the keen BMGS Chess Club participants and spectators last term contributed to Anglicare.

The Hub and Op Shop remain open fortnightly on Friday mornings, greeted with smiles and helping hands of Pitt House students.

Sincere thanks to Pitt House members and Chess co-curricular players/spectators for your wonderful support of these endeavours.
