From the Performing Arts/Drama Department

With HSC Trials and Practical examinations fast approaching, Term 3 will be a busy one.

Year 12 were fortunate to work with our own Helen Thomson in the holidays, gaining valuable insights into the way actors prepare for a role. We are so grateful for the incredible opportunity to learn from someone so accomplished and talented. Helen is very supportive and encouraging of the students, helping to build their confidence as they prepare for the performance examinations.

A big thank you also to Mrs Annette Charter (ex HOD Drama and MIC Co-curricular Drama) for working with our design students on the same HSC day. Her insights into the Design – Costume project are so helpful and we are excited to see how the students have developed their projects over the break.

Congratulations to two Year 10 boys; James Reynolds and Raphael Hampartzoumian on their selection for inclusion in ATYP’s ‘Intersection’ Festival. The boys will be performing a new Australian short play entitled, ‘Pullet’ at the Rebel Theatre in Walsh Bay on Tuesday, 1st August. We are still waiting on ticket details from the theatre and will share the information on MyBMGS as soon as possible.

Dates to remember:  HSC Performance nights will be on Monday and Tuesday night in Week 6 this term and the schedules for these nights will be published shortly.
