Rocket Launch Day

On the final Wednesday of Term 2, students from our Wednesday afternoon STEM Club finally got the opportunity to launch their rockets. We were blessed by almost perfectly still conditions, which were required to launch the rockets, which reach 300ft in the air, safely within our available space. Students had spent a large part of T2 building and decorating their rockets so having the launch afternoon come together in the last week was a welcome relief.

We were fortunate enough to have the afternoon facilitated by two members of the NSW Rocketry Association, Ryan Shaw and Derek Waterman. Their expertise was greatly appreciated by our students who were able to engage with their remote launch system and secure launch platforms.
