From the Dean of Curriculum

Dear BMGS Community,

I hope this Newsletter finds you well and that you've had a restful and rejuvenating break. As we embark on the beginning of Term 3, I would like to update you on some important information regarding the upcoming Trial Higher School Certificate (HSC) examinations.

The Trial HSC examinations are a crucial milestone in the academic journey of our Year 12 students. These exams provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills before the final HSC exams later in the year. They are designed to simulate the conditions of the actual HSC exams and serve as valuable preparation for our students.

During the Trial HSC examination period, students will be assessed across a range of subjects, providing them with valuable feedback on their progress and areas for improvement. It is essential that students use this opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the exam format, time management, and the level of preparation required to excel in their final HSC exams.

To support our students during this critical period, we have put in place a range of resources and initiatives. Our dedicated teaching staff will provide guidance and feedback to students, helping them identify their strengths and weaknesses.

In addition to the academic preparation, we also recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy balance during this stressful period. Students are reminded to prioritise self-care, including regular exercise, sufficient sleep, and maintaining social connections. Our school counsellors are available to provide support and guidance to students who may be experiencing heightened stress or anxiety.

As parents, your support and encouragement are vital to our students' success. Please ensure you create a conducive study environment at home, encourage regular study habits, and provide emotional support to your child. Regular communication with teachers and staying informed about your child's progress will also play a significant role in their academic journey.

Lastly, I would like to remind everyone that the Trial HSC exams are not the sole measure of success. While they are undoubtedly important, it is essential to remember that they are just one part of the overall HSC assessment process. Our school is committed to providing a well-rounded education, nurturing students' personal growth, and fostering a love for lifelong learning.

I wish all our Year 12 students the best of luck as they prepare for the Trial HSC examinations. I have every confidence in their abilities and know that their hard work and dedication will yield excellent results. Let us work together to support and encourage them as they strive for success.
