Mrs Heather Dear
A slow start marked term 3 this year,
With rain and frost still so near.
Chilly winds bit through our gloves,
Yet we returned – green dreams above.
The soil lay quiet, firm and cold,
Seeds hesitant, the roots on hold.
But hands kept working, slow and sure,
With patient hope, we did endure.
We planted seedlings with care, not haste,
Though sun was shy and warmth a taste.
Little sprouts with promise deep,
Tucked in the earth for spring to reap.
The snow peas climbed reaching high,
First flowers lifting to the sky.
Come spring, our garden’s tale will show-
How beauty’s born when we stay slow.
