The LRC welcomes “OLLIE” to the library

The LRC is excited to share the launch of their new Oliver library management system. 

Affectionately named “Ollie” by our library staff, the new system offers students and teachers access to more customised study related features, The new software offers simple search features as well as providing access to subject reading lists on our school curriculum.  Students can automate citations for their work based around the resources used within the system. “Ollie” offers teachers the ability to create reading lists and resources for school-based units of work and provides learning tools to support students. 

Poppy Appeal

Each year Heathmont College proudly supports the Poppy Appeal for Remembrance Day, commemorated on November 11.

Please donate or purchase a fundraising item from the LRC or at the front office.  In doing so you will be assisting veterans and their families who have served our country.

Halloween

Halloween is a celebration observed in many countries on 31 October. 

At Heathmont we embrace this opportunity to have some fun and get into the spooky spirit of it all.  The LRC’s new library assistants have taken great joy in creating their first display in their new roles.

With lots more events and celebrations coming up as we near the end of the year we look forward to our new assistants taking an active role in creating more displays, promoting upcoming events and assisting in keeping our space an inclusive bright place for students and staff to gather.

State Library 

Following on from our October 15 State Library Tour with our library assistants and friends we are happy to announce that the new books and resources have arrived.  The library staff are enthusiastically cataloguing and covering these items to add to our ever-growing collection.  Within each book, game and puzzle you will find a sticker highlighting which student picked the item to be included in our library. These carefully selected resources have been chosen with our Heathmont College students in mind. We hope you enjoy the new additions.
