MND Big Freeze Awareness Group – Free Dress Day 25th June 2026
MND Awareness group: Sienna Wheeler (Year 11), Hope Anderton (Year 11), Tayah Rogers (Year 11), Syieve Smith (year 10), Lucinda Steckyz (year 9), Justin Wright (year 8), Rylan De Heer (year 8), Dom Alexander (year 8), Grace Shaw (year 7), and Olivia Hudson (year 7).
The MND Awareness student group presented information about MND across various year levels. The students also presented their PowerPoint to the Assistant Principals, Mr Atrache and Mr Olden.
They were professional and confident, and they did an excellent job.
MND Big Freeze Activities
The SRC organised many activities during lunchtime, such as an icy pole stall, cupcakes, face painting, a Koorie stall, a beanie raffle, a post-it note, and a refraction activity. VM students organised a sausage sizzle with Ms McCormack supervising them. Staff members and students also signed up for the Ice Bucket challenge. Mr Dean Beard organised the staff beanie raffle. Alex Bykovec helped with the set-up for the bucket challenge. Raf Kaplon supervised the baking of cupcakes. A gold coin donation was collected by the SRC and will be donated towards the MND research.
A big thank you to everyone involved in the day, both students and staff. It was a great event, creating a fantastic environment for our school community to come together to celebrate a great cause.
KWRSC Art Competition 2026
Students and staff are participating in the Art Competition 2026 by creating an original artwork that captures what makes our school special. The winning posters will be displayed around the school and converted into commemorative posters for the upcoming 70th anniversary of KWRSC in 2027. The competition has been extended to the end of week 4 Term 3.
Interhouse Volleyball Flinders Vs Sturt - Years 7 - 9
Year 7-9 students tried their hand at a fun lunchtime of volleyball. Flinders defeated Sturt by 8 points. SRC members- Lincoln Schreurs, Cohan Waixel, Claire Horan, Emma Horan Plump, Tilly Hichisson, Summer Barry, and Lilly Wills did a great job in organising the interhouse volleyball tournaments for students in years 7 - 9.
Premier’s Reading Challenge - Years 7 & 8 HAP
