Year 11 Report

Congratulations to all Year 11 students on completing Unit 1 and on a successful transition into Unit 2 over the past two weeks. We are proud of the way that the cohort has risen to the many and varied challenges that the VCE brings.

We were very impressed with the way that our VCE students conducted themselves in their recent Unit 1 exams; their first full round of VCE-style exams.  Students showed organisation, punctuality and respect for each other within the exam room. We have recognised students who achieved high marks in these exams in our end-of-term assembly, and we encourage all VCE students to reflect on their first VCE exam experience and set goals for the Unit 1 and 2 exams, which will be in Term 4.  These exams are often referred to as “practice exams” and therefore we do expect that students will use them to figure out the best way to approach exams for them personally.

We have recognised students in our VCE VM cohort this week who have had attendance of 97% and above this term.  These students clearly demonstrate our college values of connection and growth in their commitment to their schoolwork, and I hope to recognise even more students for their excellent attendance at the end of term 3.

With only about 15 weeks of classes left in Year 11 for our current cohort, we will turn to subject selection for Year 12 early next term.  This process will be carried out through our mentor program, with each student meeting with their mentor to confirm their program for Year 12 in 2027.  Students who are thinking about changing their subjects or program for 2027 should speak to the Year 11 team or the careers office when they return to school next term.

Finally, as we continue to look to Year 12, Tania Miller (Year 12 Learning Community Leader) has passed on the following information about ordering Year 12 uniforms for 2027:

2027 Year 12 uniform items

  • Information is available to parents through Compass, outlining all details for students to purchase Year 12 uniform items for 2027. Students will also have access to this information on Teams.
  • Due dates cannot be changed to enable students to receive their orders by the start of Rollover in November. Orders will close on Sunday, 7th September.
  • Uniform orders are placed directly through the supplier's website.
  • Students will have the opportunity to try on sample sizes early next term (this is strongly recommended).
