Year 9 and 10 Report

As we approach the end of the term, it is an excellent opportunity to reflect on the many experiences that have supported our middle school students' learning, personal growth and future planning.
A major focus throughout the term has been helping students explore future pathways and develop the skills required for life beyond school.
Our Year 9 students have continued their engagement with the Morrisby Program, which has provided valuable insights into their strengths, interests and potential career directions. This work has been further supported by the Pathways to Success Mock Interview Program, in which students participated in one-on-one interviews with staff. This is an authentic experience that allows students to practise interview techniques, communicate their skills and experiences, and receive constructive feedback to build their confidence and employability skills.
Our Year 10 students embarked on Work Experience placements, such a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the workplace, explore potential career interests and develop important workplace skills. We thank the Pathways Team, the Middle School Team, and employers who have worked together to make these opportunities possible.
Students in Years 9 and 10 also participated in and viewed pathways presentations throughout the term, encouraging them to consider future study and career options. Year 10 students attended the Senior School Subject Supermarket, where they explored the wide range of subjects available in Years 11 and 12 and began making informed decisions about their senior school pathways.
Student well-being and safety remained a priority throughout the term. Through the Legal Aid Incursion, students explored the complexities of sexting, cyberbullying and online behaviour. These sessions provided students with important information to help them make safe and respectful decisions in an increasingly connected world.
The term concluded with our Year 9 and 10 Examination Program. Students approached their exams with maturity, demonstrating excellent behaviour and a positive attitude throughout. These examinations provide valuable preparation for Senior School expectations and help students develop effective study habits, resilience, and examination skills.
Thank you to our students for their ongoing commitment, to our families for their support, and to our dedicated staff, who continue to provide outstanding opportunities for learning and growth. We look forward to another successful term ahead as our teachers continue to inspire and support every student in reaching their fullest potential.
Please keep in mind that the subject selection for the upcoming Parent Presentation session is scheduled for week 1 of next term. All information pertaining has been emailed directly and is available on the website under school documentation and in the Middle School and Senior School Handbooks.
Have a restful break.
