Instrumental Music

Last Thursday, our specially selected team of Instrumental Music students competed in the 2nd Annual Cardinia Inter-School Battle of the Bands, performing to an almost sold-out audience at the Cardinia Cultural Centre.

Koo Wee Rup Secondary College entered three ensembles in the competition: the Senior Concert Band, featuring vocalists Brady, Ella and Claudia performing Thriller; the Stage Band performing Billabong Boogie; and the Senior Rock Band performing Grace.

We are thrilled to announce that KWRSC was once again victorious, taking home the Best Overall School trophy and a $400 prize to spend at Fine Music. Our Senior Rock Band also claimed the coveted Best Band award with an outstanding performance of Jeff Buckley's Grace. Congratulations to Jack, Rueben and Aaron!

We are immensely proud of all our students, not only for their outstanding musical performances, but also for the teamwork, sportsmanship and respect they demonstrated throughout this friendly inter-school competition. We would also like to acknowledge our dedicated Instrumental Music staff, whose expertise and commitment helped prepare the students for this event. Thank you as well to the many parents, staff and supporters who came along to cheer on our performers.
