Amazing 5/6

From the Teachers

It’s hard to believe we have reached the end of another busy term in 5/6! Our students have enjoyed a number of exciting opportunities both in and out of the classroom, demonstrating enthusiasm, resilience and excellent teamwork throughout.

One of the highlights of the fortnight was school swimming at Mentone Grammar. Students enjoyed practising with their classmates, learning new skills and swim strokes, and using the wonderful facilities at Mentone.

We were incredibly proud of our 5/6 students, who participated in the Night of the Notables last week. After weeks of research and preparation, students brought influential historical figures to life through their biographies, posters, costumes, displays and props. The event showcased the impressive effort, creativity and knowledge that students developed throughout the project. Thank you to all the families who attended and supported this special event.

Last Friday, our students also participated in the ISS Lightning Premiership. The day was filled with energy, teamwork and friendly competition as students worked together and displayed excellent sportsmanship. Our results were the best in Le Page history: Mixed Netball - Pool A Champions; Girls Softball - Pool A Champions; Boys Soccer - Pool B Champions; Boys Softball - Runners-Up. Our Girls Netball team also showed tremendous growth and enthusiasm throughout the season. Congratulations to the Mixed Netball and Girls Softball teams, who have progressed to the next round!

This week, the 5/6 students are taking part in the ‘Around the World’ Project, a highly anticipated and exciting end-of-term event. Working in small groups, students were randomly assigned a country and have been busy researching information to create presentations, speeches, flags and maps. Students will present their projects on Friday to teachers, peers and younger students.
