Term 2 Week 10 2026 -  Friday 26th, June.

What have we been up to?

Wow, how time flies when you’re having fun! We can’t believe that it is already the end of our first semester! The growth in confidence and knowledge that each and every student has shown this semester is so wonderful, we are very proud of everyone!

We have been enjoying our swimming program, a great way to finish up the term. The students have all shown great confidence and independence in getting themselves organised and ready for swimming, and then trying their absolute best during the lessons. They have definitely all shown us their inner Miss Amber!

Everyone is very excited about the holiday break. We can’t wait to hear the amazing stories when we return back to school!

In Literacy, As we finish up the term, we are revising what we have learnt so far. We have created a narrative by looking at a focus picture. Everyone had an opportunity to plan, write, edit and type a made up story based on the picture. They all did a great job thinking outside the box, and coming up with creative and imaginary ideas. We ensured that our stories were full of descriptive words and adjectives to create imagery and deliver an interesting and exciting story!

This term, we are exploring the following in phonics:

In Maths, As we finish up for the term, we are revising what we have learnt this semester. We are reminding ourselves of place value, and the importance of only having one digit in each place value column. We have also finished our capacity topic where we looked at how we can estimate, measure and compare the capacity of different objects.

In Inquiry, we are learning about chemical science. We have been looking at the different states of matter - solid, liquid and gas. We then learnt about mixtures, and how different mixtures can change the state of matter of an object. We also explored how heat can affect the state of a matter. Last week, we made cupcakes! The students had such fun, what a delicious way to end our inquiry topic of chemical science !
