Wonderful 1

One-derful Class Chronicles
Term 2 Week 10 2026 - Friday 26th June
What have we been up to?
As we come to the end of Term 2, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of the students on a wonderful semester of learning. I am incredibly proud of the hard work, growth and determination they have shown across all areas of the curriculum. It has been a pleasure to watch their confidence and skills develop throughout the term.
Over the past two weeks, students have continued working hard and completing a range of assessments in Reading, Writing and Mathematics. They should be very proud of the effort they have put into demonstrating their learning.
Students particularly enjoyed finishing our Science unit on materials and chemical reactions. One of the highlights was making cupcakes and observing the changes that occurred during the baking process. It was a fun and engaging way to apply their scientific understanding.
Our Swimming Program was another highlight of the term. The students demonstrated excellent behaviour, resilience and enthusiasm throughout the program. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow in the water each day. Thank you to all families for your support in ensuring students were prepared and ready to participate.
As we head into the school holidays, I would like to thank all families for your ongoing support throughout the semester. It has been a busy and successful term, and I am grateful for the strong partnership between home and school.
I hope all families have a safe, relaxing and happy holiday break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another exciting term of learning.
A friendly reminder to please send through a family photo for our Family Wall if you haven’t already.
Thank you! If you ever need anything please do not hesitate to get in touch with me at madeleine.simos@education.vic.gov.au

Mathematics
Students will be learning about measurement using informal units. They will compare and measure the length, height, mass and capacity of different objects using hands-on materials and will explain their mathematical thinking using appropriate language.
Inquiry
Students will begin our Past and Present unit, exploring how people, places and daily life have changed over time. They will investigate similarities and differences between the past and present and develop an understanding of how communities evolve.
