Chaplain's Message

“Someone gained a good lesson from a southern prayer meeting. A brother asked the Lord for various blessings - as you and I do, and thanked the Lord for many already received - as you and I do: but he closed with this unusual petition;

“And, O Lord, support us! Yes support us on every ‘leanin’ side!

And the reading goes on to ask – do you have any leaning sides??

I love the vision of our mighty God wrapping his arm around the weakest points of our fragile selves to support and steady the vulnerable bits on “every leanin’ side”!

There have been times when I have called out to God and his response has come through so many different ways! What is exciting about God’s support is the very personal nature in which He deals with each of us! It can often seem like a coincidence, it can be easy to miss – but if you call to Him He WILL answer and the question remains are we really listening? Do we actually believe He is right there supporting us on every “leanin” side! 

It can be though someone else, a change of circumstances, a verse, a book, His still small voice, a prompting through our mistakes! Never underestimate God’s creativity – remember his resources are infitnite!
