Student Voice &

Positive Environment

Term 2 has begun with great energy across the school, and it has been fantastic to see students continuing to develop their leadership skills, contribute their ideas and actively shape our school community through Student voice and agency.

A highlight of the past few weeks was the opportunity for our SRC to attend the Joanne Ryan Leadership Forum. The forum brought together students from a range of local secondary schools to explore the importance of student leadership, advocacy and community engagement. Students participated in workshops and discussions focused on communication, teamwork, inclusion and the role young people play in creating positive change within their schools and local communities.

Our students represented the school with pride and maturity, engaging thoughtfully and collaborating confidently with their peers from other schools. They returned with valuable insights and ideas that they are eager to share and implement within our own student leadership programs and school initiatives.

This term, Student Voice and Agency will continue to focus on providing authentic opportunities for students to contribute to decision-making processes across the school. It has been encouraging to see students demonstrating initiative and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference.

We also encourage all students to continue getting involved in forums, leadership opportunities, clubs and student-led activities throughout the term. Student voice is strongest when many perspectives are heard, and every student has the capacity to contribute meaningfully to our school community.

Thank you to the staff and families who continue to support our students in developing confidence, leadership and agency. We look forward to seeing these programs continue to grow throughout the year.
