ATHLETICS CARNIVAL- A DAY OF FUN, COMPETITION AND SCHOOL SPIRIT
The Athletics Carnival was a tremendous success, with students bringing outstanding energy, enthusiasm, and incredible house spirit to every event throughout the day. From the excitement of the sprint races to the determination shown in the longer-distance events and field competitions, students consistently demonstrated teamwork, perseverance, and encouragement towards one another. Whether competing on the track, participating in novelty events, or cheering loudly for friends and teammates from the sidelines, students embraced every opportunity to get involved and contribute to the positive atmosphere of the day.
The carnival was filled with memorable moments, friendly competition, and a strong sense of school pride. Students displayed excellent sportsmanship, celebrating each other’s achievements and supporting fellow peers regardless of the final results. The colourful house chants, enthusiastic cheering, and willingness of students to participate helped create a vibrant and inclusive environment that was enjoyed by all.
A special thank you must go to all staff members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organise and run the event smoothly. From setting up equipment and coordinating events to supervising students and recording results, their dedication and hard work ensured the carnival was both enjoyable and successful. Appreciation is also extended to the student leaders and volunteers who assisted throughout the day and helped maintain the positive spirit of the event. Overall, the Athletics Carnival was a fantastic celebration of participation, teamwork, and school community.
Congratulations to YELLOW HOUSE on winning the day.

Intermediate Volleyball WMR Final
On Wednesday 6th May our Girls Intermediate Volleyball team competed in the WMR Final at Leisuretime Geelong.
The girls competed against Point Cook Senior College, Melton Secondary and The Grange College.
Match 1 where we versed Point Cook ended up in a draw with each team winning 1 set each as the game time limit applied.
Match 2 where we versed Melton we lost the 2 sets but competed well.
Match 3 where we versed The Grange, we lost both sets, but this game was by far our best and pushed The Grange right to the end. (The Grange ended up winning the final).
The girls should be congratulated for their teamwork and positive attitude in all 3 games and their support for one another.
Thanks to Ms Papillion with supporting the girls.
Netball Interschool Sports
During the end of Term 1 and beginning of Term 2, Year 8 Intermediate and Senior Girls Netball teams took part in the Interschool Sports at Eagle Stadium. The games were played in round robin style. The competition was tough and the opponents were very strong for all 3 teams.
All our teams showed incredible effort and sportsmanship during all games and improved with each game played. Even though we didn’t win on the days the girls had a great time and were wonderful representatives of the school.
We look forward to the improvement of the Year 8 and Intermediate girls next year.
A congratulations needs to be made to the Senior Girls as they played with only five players. They never gave up and continued to put 100% effort in and more importantly played with a smile.
Thank you to Ms Smith, Mr Shea and Ms Bruce for taking the teams out.
On Friday the 27th of March, Nicole Atkinson and myself had the pleasure of taking a group of young enthusiastic girls out for a competitive netball competition!
Game 1: Carrnaballac B/W vs Wyndham Central
The girls demonstrated great skill and sportsmanship throughout the game, after numerous training sessions and commitment - it definitely paid off. The girls came away with the win.
Score: 10-16
Game 2: Werribee Secondary vs Wyndham Central
After a great first win, the girls were on a big high with lots of positive energy and ready to get back out there! The girls showed great strength and determination; leading towards the ball, applying pressure to their opponents and calling for the ball. The girls came away with another win.
Score: 9/18
Pool A vs Pool B in the final:
Manor Lakes vs Wyndham Central
The girls knew it was going to be a tough game, with Manor Lakes demonstrating persistence and physicality from their last two wins. The girls were hungry for the win, utilising their chant “3,2,1 WCC” to uplift their spirits. At half time the scores were level, with our key focus being ‘slow and controlled.’ The girls went back on to gain a lead of four goals by the end of the third quarter. The energy was high. With Michelle scoring goal after goal and Law Eh Paw getting multiple intercepts. The girls came away with a fabulous win.
Score: 10-17
The girls are very excited to head to the next stage of the competition!
