Welcome Back to Term 4
Welcome back to Term 4! It has been a busy and positive start to the final term of the school year, with plenty happening across Le Page Primary School. It is hard to believe we are already approaching the end of another year, and there is still much to look forward to over the coming weeks.
World Teachers’ Day
Last week, we celebrated World Teachers’ Day, taking the opportunity to acknowledge the dedication, care and hard work of our wonderful teaching staff. Teaching is a demanding but incredibly rewarding profession, and I am continually grateful for the commitment our teachers show towards the learning, wellbeing and development of every student. On behalf of Courtney and myself, thank you to our teachers for everything you do to make Le Page such a special place to learn and work.
BridgeBuilders Graduation
On Monday, we celebrated the graduation of our students who participated in the BridgeBuilders program. This has been a valuable opportunity for our senior students to develop their confidence, leadership skills and positive relationships. It was lovely to have parents join us to recognise their children's achievements. Congratulations to all students involved, and thank you to everyone who supported the program.
Choir Visit to Kingston Green
Last Wednesday, our school choir visited Kingston Green to share their musical talents with residents. These visits are a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with the wider community and bring some joy to others. We are proud of the way our students represent Le Page and demonstrate kindness, confidence and a willingness to contribute positively to their community.
Foundation Transition and Biodiversity Incursions
On Wednesday, we welcomed our 2027 Foundation students for another transition session. It is lovely to see our newest students becoming more familiar and comfortable with their future school. These sessions are an important part of helping children develop confidence, build relationships and feel excited about starting school next year.
Our Foundation students and Year 1–2 students have also enjoyed biodiversity incursions this week. These experiences provide valuable opportunities to learn about the natural environment, living things and the importance of caring for the world around us.
Year 3-4 Camp Next Week!
There is certainly plenty of excitement among our Year 3–4 students as they prepare for their camp next week. For many students, camp is one of the highlights of their primary school years. It provides opportunities to develop independence, resilience, teamwork and friendships while experiencing activities outside the classroom. I am sure the students are looking forward to the adventure, and perhaps some parents are looking forward to a few quieter evenings at home! We wish everyone attending a fantastic experience and look forward to hearing their stories when they return.
High Expectations - Bringing Out the Best in Every Child
At Le Page Primary School, we believe that high expectations are one of the greatest gifts we can give our children. When we set high expectations, provide encouragement and believe in their ability to succeed, we help children develop the confidence to achieve more than they thought possible.
High expectations are not about expecting perfection. They are about encouraging effort, perseverance, responsibility and a willingness to learn from mistakes. They are also about the standards we set for ourselves as adults, through our words, actions and the example we provide.
As a school community, we all have a role to play in helping our children aim high, treat others with dignity and respect, and take pride in doing their best. When families and schools share these expectations, we create an environment where children feel supported, challenged and inspired to succeed.
I encourage every member of our community to remember this simple message:
"High expectations are not about demanding perfection. They are about believing in potential, encouraging effort and never settling for less than our best."
Together, let's continue to identify the talent, develop the confidence and create the leader in every student.
Looking Ahead
As we move further into Term 4, our focus remains on maintaining positive learning routines, strong attendance and making the most of every school day. Although the end of the year is approaching, there is still a great deal of important learning to take place.
Thank you to our families for your continued support and to our staff for the enthusiasm and energy they have brought to the beginning of the term.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.
