On June 20th, Wyndham Central College proudly celebrated International Yoga Day, bringing together students and staff members to embrace the spirit of unity, mindfulness, and holistic well-being through yoga.

The event welcomed our prestigious Guest, Honourable Consul General of India, Melbourne- Dr. Sushil Kumar by our school principal, who highlighted the importance of yoga in daily life and its role in improving physical and mental health. This was followed by a serene and energising yoga sessions led by a certified yoga instructor. Students from various year levels actively participated, demonstrating impressive flexibility, balance, and focus.

A series of yoga asanas, breathing exercises (pranayama), and guided meditation were practiced during the session. The calm atmosphere, paired with soothing music, created a peaceful environment where everyone could relax, recharge, and connect with their inner selves.

Teachers also joined in, making it a truly inclusive and inspiring experience.

The celebration spread a message on incorporating yoga into our everyday routine to lead healthier and more mindful lives.

WCC also accepted  and attended the IDY celebration hosted  by the Indian Consulate , Melbourne held at St. Kilda Town Hall on 21st of June.

We thank all students and teachers’ participation on the day for making this event a resounding success. Let’s continue to stretch, breathe, and grow—both on and off the mat!
