Year 12 Art Creative Practice Excursion
Tarneit Senior College’s Year 12 Art Creative Practice students had the unique opportunity to explore the works of renowned artist Yayoi Kusama at her solo exhibition at the NGV International. The exhibition, showcasing over 200 works, allowed students to engage with Kusama’s iconic sculptures and immersive installations, deepening their understanding of her groundbreaking career.
During the excursion, gallery educators guided students through a discussion on how to analyze Kusama’s art using interpretive lenses. This hands-on experience reinforced key concepts for Units 3 & 4, helping students sharpen their skills in art analysis and interpretation, particularly in the context of unseen artworks.
The visit not only provided a sensory experience but also enhanced students' academic studies, offering a rich learning opportunity and a deeper appreciation for Kusama's multidisciplinary practice.
