International Women's Day

Thank You to our student leaders, student volunteers and staff who worked together to make International Women’s Day a very successful school event this term. Student volunteers made over a hundred IWD pins for the school community where purple signifies justice and dignity and green symbolizes hope.
VM students produced posters showcasing women who have advanced the cause for gender equality and excellence. Thanks to our IWD stall volunteers who encouraged students to write their positive affirmations for women and girls on colourful circles during lunch and recess breaks. Our eye-catching display inspired by artist Yayoi Kusama is exhibited this week in B wing.

Women's Day at our school was an absolute blast! The entire school buzzed with excitement as students and teachers came together to celebrate the achievements and strength of women. Students gathered around and wrote sweet notes about the special women in their lives.
One of the most touching moments of the day was when students wrote heartfelt notes for their moms, expressing their love, gratitude, and admiration. The activity brought a wave of emotions as students took a moment to reflect on the endless sacrifices and unwavering support their mothers provided. Each note was beautifully crafted—some filled with sweet messages, others decorated with colourful drawings and stickers. Once written, the students proudly pinned their notes onto a large display wall, turning it into a stunning collage of love and appreciation. Seeing the wall covered in messages of gratitude was truly inspiring.
As students read through each other’s notes, smiles and even a few tears filled the air. Many realized how much they sometimes took their moms for granted, making this activity even more meaningful. The display became the heart of the event, drawing admiration from teachers and students alike. It was a beautiful way to celebrate Women's Day, reminding everyone of the incredible love and strength that mothers bring into our lives.
