Flip Out
Year 12 Excursion
The Year 12 Sports and Recreation class attended Flipout in late February, as part of their 'Workplace Health and Safety’ unit. Students undertook the role of a Health and Safety inspector, attending the trampoline play center to identify potential hazards and risks that are associated with sports and recreation venues. The class applied themselves to the excursion in a thoughtful, and considerate way, using their newfound knowledge of hazard and risk assessment to come up with strategies to improve the overall safety of sports and recreation venues similar to Flipout.
Once the students had finished their assessment of the facility, they took turns playing on the playground equipment, with a number of our students getting incredible airtime on their basketball dunk area and also in the dive pit. I was very proud of the whole class effort and the way they carried themselves in public, and am excited to continue working with them to experience real life activities as part of their participation in the subject.
