VCE and IB Subject Selections
The subject selection process for our future VCE and IB students is now well underway. Throughout Term 2, students and families are being supported through a range of
information sessions, exploration opportunities, and counselling processes to help students make informed decisions about their senior pathways.
Key Dates and Information
11 May (Term 2 Week 4) – Subject Selection Handbook ReleasedThe Subject Selection Handbook was released as an online resource containing detailed information about every subject
offered at SCHS. The handbook also includes important information regarding the application process, VCE and IB structures,
Early Access opportunities, current teaching staff, ATAR calculations, and other key considerations for senior studies.
18–22 May (Term 2 Week 5) – Subject Exploration Week (Year 9 & 10 Students)During Subject Exploration Week, teachers conducted detailed presentations within classes outlining the subjects available
in each faculty area. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of subjects they may be
considering for their senior years.
Monday 18 May – IB Parent Webinar
Families interested in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme were invited to attend the IB Parent Webinar.

Tuesday 2 June (Term 2 Week 7) – Senior Pathways Information Evening (Year 10 Families)

Year 10 families are invited to attend this in-person evening presentation to learn more about the senior pathways available at SCHS, including VCE and the IB Diploma Programme. The evening will provide families with the opportunity to clarify any questions
or concerns regarding senior studies, subject choices, and pathway structures. Please keep an eye on your email for further event information.
Friday 5 June – Course Counselling Appointment Times Released
Students will receive their appointment times for the upcoming course counselling interviews.
Thursday 11 June (Term 2 Week 8) – Course Counselling Interviews (Year 10 Students)
Each Year 10 student will participate in a one-on-one interview and discussion regarding their desired career pathway and the subjects that would be most appropriate and beneficial for their senior studies. Please note that these are student-only interviews and parents are not permitted to attend.
Monday 15 June (Term 2 Week 9) – Subject Selection Forms Released
Both the Google Form and Edval Form will be made available for students and parents to complete,allowing students to formally register their subject preferences for 2027.
Thursday 25 June (Term 2 Week 10) – Subject Selection Forms Due
All subject selection forms, including both the Google Form and Edval Form, must be submitted by this date to ensure the timetabling process can begin in preparation for 2027.
We encourage all students and families to continue engaging with the process and take advantage of the support available as students prepare for an exciting and successful senior school journey.
