Term 3 - Winter Uniform

A reminder that all students commence Term 3 on Tuesday 21 July after the Parent/Student/Teacher Interviews on Monday 20 July. Students are to arrive impeccably presented in Winter Uniform for the commencement of Term 3 on Tuesday 21 July. This means polished shoes and clean uniforms, including blazers in excellent condition.

We ask for parental support to ensure that your son or daughter tries on their uniform with plenty of time to get any issues rectified or purchase new items, if necessary, prior to the commencement of Term 3. Students and parents are reminded that hairstyles should be conservative, neat, tidy, of natural colour and shoulder length hair should be tied up. Student are not permitted to wear any make-up and to not have their eyelashes enhanced. Nails are to be kept short with no acrylics or nail polish. Students are permitted to wear the following jewellery: up to one pair of small plain silver or gold sleepers or studs in the lower ear lobe, one silver or gold chain, a Christian religious symbol on their chain, a watch and no other jewellery. Please check the College Diary for more details.

May we also take this opportunity to once again remind parents to label all uniform items with their child’s first name and surname. At the end of each term, we have a number of articles of clothing, bags, hats, sport bags, shoes and water bottles in Lost Property not labelled and not claimed.

Parents are reminded to check their child’s College Tracksuit as well as their Winter College Uniform.

The Uniform Shop will be open on Monday 20 July from 12:00pm to 6:00pm. The normal operating hours throughout the school term for the Uniform Shop are Mondays and Thursdays between 1:00pm and 4:30pm.

Year 10 Subject Selection & Pathways Information

The transition from Year 10 into senior secondary schooling is a significant step, and Term 2 into Term 3 marks a key period in planning for Year 11, Year 12, and beyond. This week, Mr Roger D’Almeida emailed all parents details of important details in regard to this planning.

On Wednesday 17 June we begun the subject selection process with a Year 10 Assembly, where students received important information about the pathways and subjects available in Year 11, along with guidance on how to navigate the course selection process.

An online Subject Selection Information Evening for Year 10 students and their parents will be held on Monday 22 June at 6:00pm via Microsoft Teams. A link has been sent to students and parents. This session will provide a comprehensive overview of the subject selection process and give families the opportunity to explore the options available for 2027. We encourage all families to attend this important event from the comfort of their home.

The process will conclude with the Parent-Student-Teacher Interviews and Ongoing Enrolment Agreement Meetings on Monday 20 July, where each Year 10 student and a caregiver is required to meet with College staff to finalise subject choices. More details about these meetings will be shared during the upcoming online presentation.

Please mark these key dates in your calendar and stay engaged in this important stage of your child’s educational journey.

Deputy Principal (Years 7 & 10)

Assessment Catch up Changes: Term 3, 2026 onwards

Parents and Students are advised that from the start of Term 3, 2026  when a student is absent from school when an in-class assessment occurs, students must complete class assessment tasks they have missed within Three (3) school days (originally five (5) school days) and must complete the assessment upon the day they return from an absence.  These changes have been made to ensure assessments are done in a timely manner by students and to maintain the integrity of the assessment given.

When an absence occurs during an in-class assessment, the subject teacher administering the assessment will send a notification to parents via SEQTA. This message will communicate that assessment catch up sessions will occur in classroom P7, after school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (3:30 pm to 4:30 pm) and before school on Thursday (7:40 am to 8:40 am).

If a student is absent beyond three school days, parents are asked to get in contact with the subject teacher who will advise a course of action.

Semester One Reports

Parents will receive a SEQTA message notification once Semester One Reports are released in Week 11. These reports offer valuable insights into each student’s progress and achievement for the semester.

Reports also indicate whether any teachers have requested an interview with you and your child during next term’s Parent/Student/Teacher Interviews.

We encourage all students to reflect on their Semester One performance, identify areas for growth, and set clear academic goals for Semester Two.

Toddle: New Student Learning Platform – 2027

We would like to let families know that, from the start of 2027, the school will be moving to a new Learning Management System, ‘Toddle’, replacing SEQTA.

This decision has been made after careful consideration of how we can best support student learning and improve the way we communicate with families. Toddle offers a more modern, easy-to-use platform that allows students to engage more actively with their learning and gives parents clearer insights in student progress.

Staff have already begun preparing for this change throughout 2026, and we will provide information and support for students and families closer to the transition to ensure everyone feels confident using the new system.

We look forward to sharing more details with you as we move towards this change.

Mr R D'Almeida

Deputy Principal (Years 8 & 11)
