Junior ACC SAS Winter Carnival
A select group of our Year 7, 8 and 9 students proudly represented the College at the Junior ACC SAS Winter Carnival last week, competing against schools from across the Perth metropolitan area in netball, basketball and soccer.
The carnival provided students with the opportunity to challenge themselves against strong opposition while gaining valuable experience at high-quality sporting venues, including the Perth Netball Association, Sam Kerr Football Centre, Willetton Basketball Association and Forrestfield Football Association.
Throughout the day, our students displayed outstanding determination, teamwork and sportsmanship. They embraced every challenge, supported one another and represented the College with pride, demonstrating what it means to strive for excellence both on and off the field.
Specialised Football
It has been another busy term for the Specialised Football Program, highlighted by our recent 2027 intake and scholarship trials. Despite the early morning starts and temperatures hovering close to freezing, the standard on display was exceptionally high. It was fantastic to see so many talented and motivated students showcasing their abilities and passion for the game.
A sincere thank you to all students who applied and participated in the trials. The selection process is never easy, and we appreciate the effort shown by every applicant. Results will be communicated to families over the coming weeks.
Our SSWA competitions have also continued throughout the term. Our Junior Boys and Girls teams are set to begin their campaigns, and Rama and I are looking forward to seeing how they perform. While our Intermediate Boys have experienced a couple of disappointing results, there is still a pathway to progress to the Champions Bracket should other results fall our way.
Looking ahead, Term 3 promises to be another exciting and challenging period for the program. The ACC Senior Football Championships will commence, with both our Senior Boys and Senior Girls competing in Division 1. We have set ourselves the ambitious goal of securing a top-two finish and qualifying for the semi-finals. We know this will be a difficult task against some of the strongest football schools in the state, but we are confident that with continued hard work, commitment, and teamwork, our students will give themselves every opportunity to achieve success.
Term 3 will also feature several SSWA knockout fixtures, providing our teams with further opportunities to compete against quality opposition and continue representing the College with pride. We look forward to seeing our students embrace these challenges and make the most of the opportunities ahead.
We wish all teams the very best for the remainder of the season and look forward to sharing more updates throughout the year.
