Grade 4 News

Welcome to Term 3!
We hope everyone enjoyed a refreshing break and had the opportunity to relax over the holidays. It has been fantastic to welcome the students back and see their excitement as they settle into another busy term of learning.
A special highlight has been celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Patrick's Church. It was a very special occasion for our school community, and we were incredibly proud of our students. Their reverence and respectful participation throughout the celebration was truly impressive, and it was a beautiful privilege to witness them taking this important step in their faith journey. We thank our families for their support and congratulate all of our Confirmation candidates. A special thank you to Mrs Boak for preparing the children so thoughtfully and helping to make this occasion such a meaningful and special experience for each of them.
In Literacy, we have started reading Storm Boy, a classic Australian novel that explores the unique environment of the Coorong and the special bond between a young boy and a pelican. As we read, students will deepen their understanding of the text while learning about the Coorong. They will apply this knowledge by researching and writing an information report about this significant Australian region.
In Numeracy, our focus this term is on multiplication and division. Students are learning a range of strategies to solve multiplication and division problems. Regular practice of times tables at home is a great way to strengthen these skills and support classroom learning throughout the term.
In Religion, our focus is Known, Loved and Called: Choosing the Way of Jesus. Students will explore what it means to be known and loved by God and how they are called to follow the example of Jesus in their everyday lives.
In Humanities, students will be exploring Managing Earth's Resources. They will investigate how people use and care for natural resources, the importance of sustainability, and the ways individuals and communities can make responsible choices to help protect our environment for future generations.
We are looking forward to a wonderful Term 3 filled with engaging learning experiences, opportunities for growth, and plenty of achievements to celebrate together.
