Year 12 Physics Excursion

In Year 12 Physics, the students have been studying how light is both a wave and a particle. This topic includes studying some of the most important experiments in this field:  Young's Double Slit Experiment and the Photoelectric Effect. To reinforce this topic, the Year 12 students, accompanied by Rory, went on an excursion to the Synchrotron in Clayton.  Students were able to use lab facilities at the Synchrotron to conduct the two experiments studied in class using different coloured laser beams.  Rory enjoyed observing these experiments and providing students some guidance.

Rory and the students then had a tour of the Synchrotron and saw the different types of experiments that are currently being conducted, including how they are reported using scientific posters (very useful for when students need to create their own).
