Year 9 Create to Advocate Program

Our Year 9 students recently celebrated the culmination of their inspiring Create to Advocate program with a special art exhibition showcasing their creativity, compassion and commitment to social justice.

Throughout Terms 2 and 3, students explored a range of issues affecting individuals and communities, developing a deeper understanding of injustice and the importance of advocacy. Through research, discussion and artistic expression, students became passionate advocates for causes they care about, using their voices and talents to raise awareness and inspire positive change.

The program encouraged students to think critically about the world around them and consider how they can contribute to a more compassionate and equitable society. Their final artworks reflected themes of empathy, hope, resilience and action, demonstrating both their creativity and their commitment to making a difference.

The Create to Advocate Showcase was held in the Salt Café on Friday 14 August, where families, friends and members of the College Kingston community were invited to view the students' thought-provoking works. The exhibition provided an opportunity to celebrate the hard work, dedication and personal growth of our Year 9 students while highlighting the important messages behind each piece.

We are incredibly proud of the effort and passion displayed by our students throughout this program. Their willingness to engage with complex social issues and advocate for those whose voices are often unheard is a testament to their character and the values of our College community.
