This Term, our newsletter focus is on the Certificate 3 Business Services course, delivered by Mrs Priest, and the Certificate 2 Construction course, delivered by Mr Fahey and Mr Kanck. The class was interviewed about their experiences in the course, and below are some of their responses.
Business Services:
Darcy Fiske - One of the things I have enjoyed the most about the VET course has been the ability to gain a nationally recognised qualification that can be used anywhere in my specialisation.
Peter Ucin - Some of the practical skills that I have learnt include all of the websites and apps that we were shown throughout the course. We can use them to help with different business needs like spreadsheets for budgeting or accounting.
Hayley Haase - Getting a certificate 3 in business sets you up well and it's something that I can use in my future, its been really rewarding to gain these skills that are transferable to potential work.
Amber Ford - I have learnt about the different aspects and roles within a business and have gained some experience through the work placements. I believe this course has taught me skills which I can transfer into whatever career I actually do.
Jed Hutchinson - I have learnt skills such as conducting meeting minutes, creating excel spreadsheets, and providing customer service.
Construction:
Tom Wichman - Learning all of the different things in the course, like each of the tools and how to use them, and learning about different timbers and how they can be used. My favourite thing in the course has certainly been getting to use my hands and working with different materials.
Hunter Halden - I’ve learnt how to use a range of tools, including drop saws, impact drivers and concreting tools which will come in handy if I choose to pursue a career in the construction industry.
Henry Lewington - One of the most rewarding experiences throughout the course has been working together with my mates and building some awesome projects.
Charlie Buist - I love the fact that we get to build skills by making projects and take them home to use those same skills at home or on different projects with employers.
Bryce Marshall - The dog kennel was my favourite project, it was really fun, and you had friends to help you while you were working in a group. The activity was all hands-on and everyone got a good go at it. They all turned out to be really good.
William Wendt - I enjoyed the concrete slab prac down in the ag plot the most as I learnt a lot of very practical skills and found the project really interesting.
